We have optimized=0Athe reconstruction software employed at the micro-tomography=0Abeamlines of our synchrotron facilities to use the computational=0Apower of modern graphic cards. The main paradigm of our=0Aapproach is the full utilization of all system resources. We use=0Aa pipelined architecture, where the GPUs are used as compute=0Acoprocessors to reconstruct slices, while the CPUs are preparing=0Athe next ones. Special attention is devoted to minimize data=0Atransfers between the host and GPU memory and to execute=0Amemory transfers in parallel with the computations. We were=0Aable to reduce the reconstruction time by a factor 80 and process=0Aa typical data set of 20 GB in 15 seconds.
