When viewing the Technical Program schedule, on the far righthand side
is a column labeled "PLANNER." Use this planner to build your own
schedule. Once you select an event and want to add it to your personal
schedule, just click on the calendar icon of your choice (outlook
calendar, ical calendar or google calendar) and that event will be
stored there. As you select events in this manner, you will have your
own schedule to guide you through the week.
You can also create your personal schedule on the SC11 app (Boopsie) on your smartphone. Simply select a session you want to attend and "add" it to your plan. Continue in this manner until you have created your own personal schedule. All your events will appear under "My Event Planner" on your smartphone.
ABSTRACT: High-performance technologies typically find themselves as the primer solutions for scalable high-performance computing infrastructures that are being used for engineering simulation and research, and less in the enterprise data center. But with the emerging Web2.0 applications and the expansion of cloud infrastructures the need for speed has been extended into the Web2.0 applications as well. The benefits of low latency and high CPU efficiencies are been used for faster parallel database mapping, RDMA support is been added to Hadoop and MemCached and high throughput is being used for live migrations. Do the clouds help to drive HPC technologies into new frontiers? The session will review several cases of Web2.0 users that have decided to use HPC technologies and how those technologies can benefit the entire set of cloud application.
Session Leader Details:
Gilad Shainer (Primary Session Leader) - HPC Advisory Council
