When viewing the Technical Program schedule, on the far righthand side
is a column labeled "PLANNER." Use this planner to build your own
schedule. Once you select an event and want to add it to your personal
schedule, just click on the calendar icon of your choice (outlook
calendar, ical calendar or google calendar) and that event will be
stored there. As you select events in this manner, you will have your
own schedule to guide you through the week.
You can also create your personal schedule on the SC11 app (Boopsie) on your smartphone. Simply select a session you want to attend and "add" it to your plan. Continue in this manner until you have created your own personal schedule. All your events will appear under "My Event Planner" on your smartphone.
Decision Points in Implementing a Small HPC Cluster
SESSION: Decision Points in Implementing a Small HPC Cluster
EVENT TYPE: Birds of a Feather
TIME: 12:15PM - 1:15PM
SESSION LEADER(S):David M. Stack, Beth Anderson, Roger A. Bielefeld
ROOM:WSCC 3A
ABSTRACT: Many institutions are in the process of setting up and operating campus-scale clusters. Often staffing resources are limited and cluster system administrators are without a local peer group. This BoF is an opportunity for those affiliated with campus-scale, capacity clusters to share what has worked and not worked when configuring and managing these resources. The discussion will encompass storage environments, submit/compile environments, scheduler environments, software installation practices, monitoring tools, reporting tools, and historical trend analysis. Live polling via the attendees’ devices and laptops will be conducted during the session to generate a report on what choices the community has made. Meanwhile the discussion will capture what has worked well for people in building their clusters and what people wish they had done differently. This BoF continues the ongoing discussion that has taken place over the last two Supercomputing conferences and the Google Group for Small Centers for High Performance Computing.
